Approach

Philosophy and method

My work stems from the study of historical plucked instruments and the desire to build living instruments, designed to be played today.

In my projects, I follow and explore traditional Italian construction methods, observing their forms, proportions, construction techniques, and acoustic solutions. I don't consider these elements as models to be mechanically copied, but rather as tools for understanding a tradition and reinterpreting it with awareness.

A central aspect of my approach is the choice of materials. In keeping with the instruments I build and with a more responsible artisanal practice, I favor domestic or European woods whenever possible. This choice stems from both environmental awareness and a desire to highlight materials closely connected to the history of the instruments and the region in which I work.

For me, sustainability isn't something added to a project, but part of the construction process: it means choosing carefully, avoiding the superfluous, respecting the material, and building tools designed to last over time.

I am not looking for a simple replica of the past, but a dialogue with it. My goal is to build tools that combine historical research, manual quality, contemporary sensitivity, and responsibility towards the material.
