Restoration represents a fundamental part of my work and of my way of understanding lutherie.

Every historical instrument carries with it a material, musical and constructional history. Working on an instrument means, first of all, observing it, understanding its state of preservation and recognizing what belongs to its identity.

My approach favours targeted, respectful and minimally invasive interventions. Before any work is carried out, the structure, materials, changes undergone over time and actual needs of the instrument are carefully assessed.

I work on the restoration and maintenance of historical plucked string instruments, with particular attention to historical guitars, romantic guitars, lutes, mandolins and related instruments.

Each intervention is evaluated individually. For an initial assessment, it is possible to send photographs of the instrument, a brief description of its condition and, where available, information about its history.

​

In order to provide a complete and detailed estimate, the instrument must be examined directly. Seeing the instrument in person allows for a more accurate assessment of its structure, materials, possible critical issues and the most appropriate type of intervention.

Both the estimate and the restoration work are accompanied by a written report, supported by photographic documentation. This makes it possible to clearly describe the initial condition of the instrument, the issues identified, the chosen approach and the main stages of the work carried out.
